What is your definition of feminism?

My definition of feminism is the belief that people should not be judged through the

lenses of sex or gender, and that we as a society have work to do to make it so that all                  genders are treated with an open mind and equal respect.

What makes you consider yourself a feminist?

I do my best to always judge people by their character and not by attributes they cannot              change about themselves, including sex or gender. I think it's essential that this mindset            is used in everyday life.

Was there a specific time when you realized you were a feminist?

I wouldn't say there was a specific time, it was definitely more gradual.

How has feminism impacted your life?

Feminism has given me many opportunities as a woman that I would not have been                      afforded if so many people had not fought so hard for equal rights for all genders. I have              also met many incredible people who share this set of values, and I have been able to                    bond with them over that.

How does intersectionality matter to you?

Intersectionality is incredibly important to me, as it is one of the most essential concepts           to keep in mind when it comes to feminism and social justice, and making sure

      everyone's voice is heard.

How do you engage with feminism?

I have joined the Women in Science and Engineering chapter on our campus, and have                participated in the Students for Reproductive Rights and Justice group which holds                      feminist values.

Do you have a favorite celebrity feminist or two?

I'm not sure if celebrity is the right term for her, but I really admire what Toni Morrison             and Ruth Bader Ginsburg have done to advance feminism.

Have you ever taken a Women's Studies course?

I have not, but if I have the time, I hope to next semester!

Do you think some feminists are too radical?

That's hard to say, I think that sometimes people can use the wrong approach to try and              change someone's mind, but I think most of the time, feminists genuinely have the best              interests of all people at heart.
